Covers Project: Bon Iver Breaks Our Hearts
It’s a very special Bon Iver week here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Justin Vernon and crew played the legendary Fillmore this past Tuesday, September 22nd (where he announced the band’s upcoming hiatus, apparently), and tonight, September 24th, they’ll be taking the stage at the newly-renovated Fox Theater.
In celebration of such beautiful music here in the Bay, we’ve put together a little collection of covers that Bon Iver has performed in the past, along with the original renditions. Covers include Sarah Siskind’s “Lovin’s for Fools,” Feist’s “The Park,” and the Outfield’s “Your Love.” All MP3s after the jump.
Note: since the cover versions are all live, the recording volume/quality varies from song to song.

Great post. Wish he did The Outfield and Dylan covers this past Tuesday at the Fillmore. Le sigh…
Great collection of Bon Iver covers – how did you find all these?!?! They are so great live.
Frank, I’ve been collecting them as I’ve seen them arise on the Interwebz for a little while, so I finally decided to put them all together in one place. So so good.
[...] most people would not have heard Sarah Siskind’s “Lovin’s For Fools” if Bon Iver had not covered it . . . but if that was the requirement for unleashing such sublime beauty unto the world, then so be [...]
