Elliott Smith’s ‘Grand Mal’
Pitchfork reports that a new Elliott Smith track has surfaced via his fansite, Sweet Adeline. Although no one has confirmed exactly where the track came from, most people assume that it’s an unreleased gem from the XO sessions – in fact, “Grand Mal” was the original working title of the album. Like everyone else who has heard the song, I’ll go ahead and wonder how many more recordings there could possibly be and if we will ever get to legally hear them all. But then again, that’s just me being greedy.
that makes both of us greedy. it’s not really greed, we just can completely appreciate the sanctity of Elliott Smith. he was, and always will be, magnificent. RIP Elliott, I love you and XO is perfection.
this new song is amazing.
I heave heard the studio version of Sorry My Mistake, complete with vocals. It is beyond awesome. Sadly, I can’t hunt down the guy that played it for me about 8 years ago.
