We all know the high profile songs for popular Apple ads: Feist’s “1234” or CSS’s “Music is My Hot Sex.” But what about those I’m a Mac, I’m a PC commercials? That little hypnotic twinkling is actually composed by Mark Mothersbaugh, member of Devo, and is called “Having Trouble Sneezing.”
I have to hand it to Apple’s marketing department – whoever is behind song selection knows how to send millions of hipsters swooning. I mean tapping the same guy who is responsible for composing the instrumentals on the entire Wes Anderson catalogue, “Big Love” and “The Rugrats”!? I can hear the cash registers ringing in the distance.

Mark Mothersbaugh - Having Trouble Sneezing [Note: a Garage Band reconstruction][The above MP3 is courtesy of G. Scott Olson who was nice enough to take the time to recreate Mothersbaugh's original in Garage Band because the real version is not for sale.]

thanks for the post, and even if i’d rather said hipsters took it upon themselves to find music that they enjoy rather than relying upon advertisements, at least apple isn’t licensing from nickelback.

Hello! Could you possibly email the song to me? I am not able to save it on my computer and cannot find the song anywhere else.
Thanks so much!
