In the Know: The Intelligence, Pink Mountaintops, The Breeders
Whenever the moon is just right, the Vague Panther picks his favorite mp3s from the web to bring you the “In the Know” series. If you’ve got a tip that might pique his interest email him at vaguepanther(at)strangerdance.com.

With Woods, Wavves and many others, some of you may be getting a little bit sick of the whole lo-fi thing. Well, tough. You can add the Intelligence to your list of lo-fi must listens – their full length LP, Fake Surfers, is due out on May 26th.

Pink Mountaintops released Outside Love on April 28th and “Vampire” has been making the rounds everywhere. The album is worth noting for several guest appearances including Sophie Trudeau of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Ashley Webber who sings with Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy (Will Oldham). Extra points must be given for the romance novel album cover.

I’ll always have a soft spot for Kim Deal – mainly because I spent most of college pretending like I was in the Pixies. The Breeders just released their EP Fate to Fatal and sure, it’s a little more of the same, but you can always count on Deal and company for a good quirky tune to listen to in the car.
