I don’t think I’ve heard any of those bands, but I will go see a band called “We Were Promised Jetpacks” any day. Well done, fellas.

We Were Promised Jet Packs is a GREAT band Corey. You should definitely get familiar with their music immediately. This is shaping up to be a great festival so far in terms of acts that are semi-local (Vanderslice/Rogue Wave) with a national following.

I’m also excited to see the shows at Benders – last year they killed it with their cheap shows and local acts. Could San Francisco’s Noise Pop be the next SXSW in terms of underground bands? This year could really make that happen.

Dustin, I like your enthusiasm, but I think it’s a little early to crown NoisePop the next SXSW. Still a great little festival – I go to as many shows as possible each year, and I’m excited for another solid lineup.

    Jay,

I’m not crowning NP a SXSW by any stretch of the imagination at this time. We don’t have a 6th street here, and the accessability to multiple venues by foot either. BUT, in terms of bands that are really far under the radar, so far NP is doing a great job.
