Neil Young Doc ‘Don’t Be Denied’ Premiers 6/10
Set your DVRs for tomorrow night to catch “Don’t Be Denied”, an introspective look at the music and life of Neil Young, airing on PBS, 9PM EST.
Narrated by Young and produced by the BBC as part of their “American Masters” series, the film chronicles the songwriter’s entire career — from his suburban Canadian upbringing, through his rise to super stardom with Buffalo Springfield, and into his more reclusive and experimental years in the ’80s and ’90s.
Billed as a unique perspective on the influence and prolific achievement of the Neil Young catalog, the film attempts to “capture the critical benchmarks and personal pitfalls of the godfather of grunge.”
This should provide some much needed relief to Young fans who were turned off by the hefty $300 price tag of the Neil Young Archives, Vol. 1 box set released a few weeks ago.
