Album: Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II
Sample: “Flying Daggers” [f. Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck]
Some thought it would never happen — the sequel to the seminal Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… had become rap’s answer to Chinese Democracy — it took 14 years, but the Chef made good, dropping one of the most anticipated hip-hop records ever.
Pt. II features mostly the same cast of guests as the original with Ghostface, Method Man and Inspectah Deck all featured prominently (along with Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, Slick Rick and others).
The production work is by a who’s who of the most in-demand names: RZA, Dr. Dre, J Dilla, Erick Sermon, Allah Mathematics, DJ Scratch, Marley Marl, Scram Jones, Pete Rock and The Alchemist all contribute productions.

Album: How I Got Over
We were all afraid that The Roots would slow down and stop releasing records when they signed on to be Jimmy Fallon’s house band. But Philly’s finest are back with a new album titled How I Got Over. Check below for a performance of the title track on Mr. Fallon’s little program.

@Hanan I debated adding it this week. It got a partial release June 2, but it’s “full” release was today, whatever that means. I moved it back to June for simplicity’s sake. Thanks
