Noise Pop 2009 Preview: Wednesday Shows
Today marks the first full day of Noise Pop concerts, following yesterday’s kickoff party. Tonight’s shows have a little bit for everyone, with plenty of rock (Stephen Malkmus, Deerhunter), folk (The Mountain Goats), pop (Matt Costa) and everything in between (The Pains of Being Pure at Heart).
We’re also happy to see a healthy dose of local San Francisco acts (Papercuts, Kelley Stoltz, Sleepy Sun) both as headliners and support acts.
In addition to the official Noise Pop shows, Deerhunter will be reprising their show from last night with another free show, this time at the Rickshaw Stop with NYC buzz band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (first come, first serve, so get there early).
If that wasn’t enough, the good folks over at The Fader magazine are throwing a happy hour at the Diesel’s Post Street store featuring DJ spots by locals Owl Mag, Or the Whale and DJ Omar as well as an acoustic performance by SF’s own Girls.
You can find a full schedule at the official Noise Pop site.
