Commercial Madness: Of Montreal Likes Steak
I had to try really hard not to post Subway’s “Five Dollar Footlong” jingle for this episode of Commercial Madness. But, in my research I stumbled upon something far more ridiculous – Of Montreal actually allowed Outback Steakhouse to use “Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games” for a TV spot back in 2006. AWESOME.
Ha ha ha! I remember this commercial came out literally a week or two after I started listening to Of Montreal. I was very, very confused as to how that song worked its way into an Outback Steakhouse ad. But, c’mon VP, if you were offered a lifetime supply of Bloomin’ Onion, you couldn’t refuse.
Hahahahaha. Nice pick for wed. I saw those jokers live in falls church. weirdest show i’ve ever been to in my life. It was in a church, everyone in attendance was under 20 yrs old, at the door they asked me if I was at least 16… the opening act was some guy who sang 3 songs about “worshiping the mighty satan.” most of the dudes watching the show were wearing dresses and boots.
