Recommended Weekend Shows

We’re obviously more than a little excited for tonight’s show at Cafe du Nord. We’re very proud to be presenting three of our absolute favorite Bay Area bands: Geographer, Michael Zapruder and Harbours. Tickets are only $10, doors open at 8, show starts at 9. (Check out our recent interviews with both Geographer and Michael Zapruder to get excited.)

As if that weren’t enough, the hits keep coming, and our friends over at Deli SF are presenting another great local lineup this Saturday (4/25) at the Rickshaw Stop, featuring The Definite Articles, Stripmall Architecture and Foxtail Somersault. The show starts at 9PM. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

If you’re not quite into the up-and-coming scene, head over to the Warfield Theatre (remember that place?) to catch John Prine and Josh Ritter. Ritter’s NoisePop performance blew us away and Prine is, y’know, kind of a big deal himself. A true “musicians’ musician,” Prine has been covered by artists as disparate as the Everly Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Joan Baez and the Flying Burrito Brothers. He’s also been backed by the likes of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams and others over the years. Can’t go wrong with any of these choices.
