Stay in the Know: Woods, Passion Pit, Drummer, Vampire Hands

I recently discovered Woods through Gorilla vs. Bear and “The Dark” has been stuck in my head ever since. While this track is available now on a 7″ via Captured Tracks, their full-length LP, Songs of Shame is set for an April 14th release on Woodsist. Did you write that down? Good.
Passion Pit – “The Reeling”I’ve been steadily “blogging up” Passion Pit to get you ready for the release of their May 19th LP, Manners. Well, their myspace page finally gave us a little taste with the single “The Reeling.” Yup, that’s the chorus of little kids from the Fader video.
Drummer – “Diamonds to Shake”Patrick Carney (of Black Keys fame) has been busy on a new project called Drummer. Take that Auerbach! My Old Kentucky Blog reports that their debut album will be out some time this fall. If this song is any indication, I might have to give Carney the win.
Vampire Hands – “No Fun”The drumming on “No Fun” may sound a little menacing, but give it a second – it slips into a a catchy tune complete with a bluesy guitar riff. Vampire Hands opens up for Wavves at Bottom of the Hill on April 13th. I’m interested to see how the rest of the material on Me & You Cherry Red/Cuz It’s a Funeral plays out live.
