Here’s an old mix that I made for a friend. It started out as an introduction to Alt Country, but turned into more of a mood mix than anything. It’s still one of my favorite mixes that I’ve made.
It’s got some pretty sad bastard material on it, but I don’t think of it as depressing [disclaimer: I have a huge appreciation for sad bastard music]; I think of it as a somewhat introspective Sunday afternoon listen (also makes excellent lie-in-bed-with-significant-other music). Hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

Making mixes has been a passion of mine since I first jury-rigged two tape decks together back in junior high. For some reason, I almost completely stopped making them when I moved to San Francisco.
I’m challenging myself to post one mix each month (sliding this one in under the wire for August). As I work on getting back into it, I’d love inspiration from our readers. Anyone have a mix request? Feel free to be as broad or specific as you like. Leave a comment or email me at stranger@strangerdance.com
