Treasure Island Festival 2009 Lineup – the Rumors Begin!

Treasure Island 2009

The dates come first, then we usually wait for a good long while before the official lineup announcement breaks the interwebs. However, in an unexpected turn of events (or perhaps expected – the internet is a wacky creature), there are now rumblings about the initial lineup for the 2009 Treasure Island Music Festival. As Consequence of Sound reports (after the jump):

  • Beirut
  • The Decemberists
  • The Flaming Lips
  • Girl Talk
  • HEALTH
  • MGMT
  • Monotonix
  • Murs
  • No Age

The comments section also interjects Joanna Newsom, Grizzly Bear, St. Vincent, Bon Iver, Calexico, School of Seven Bells, Ghostland Observatory, Chromeo, MSTRKRFT, and Ben Harper as rumored participants in this year’s lineup.

Um. If this is true – holy crap.

If you’ve heard any other rumors, be sure to comment and let us know.

that would be pretty awesome, considering outside lands’ lineup is nothing to really get excited about.

Yay! I knew Treasure Island wouldn’t disappoint!

Please let this be the lineup. If this is false, damn us all.

Wow. Assuming this is true, you’d think APE would spread out the talent and leave a little more for their shiny new flagship festival. The Outside Lands lineups pales in comparison to this.

    Way to be melodramatic VP

Trying not to get my hopes up, but this would be a ridiculously good lineup. I’m going to start praying now.

If true, what a line-up! I wish they would add Phoenix to the list. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is seriously part of the good stuff.
