Justice & Raconteurs to Headline 2008 Treasure Island

Treasure Island Festival

Another Planet Entertainment just announced the lineup for the 2nd annual Treasure Island Music Festival. Headlining this year’s event will be Justice and the Raconteurs, with other big names such as Hot Chip, Vampire Weekend, Stranger-Dance-favorites TV on the Radio, and a host of smaller bands rounding out the two-day festival.

A.P.E. was smart to include some solid local acts to this year’s event, inviting the Dodos, Mike Relm and Bay Area mainstay John Vanderslice to perform.

A limited number of early-bird two-day tickets will be available for $99 through a pre-sale on May 29. Regular single-day ($65) and two-day tickets ($115) go on sale May 30. VIP ticket four-packs cost $445.

Good lineups, beautiful views and great weather made last year’s festival a surprisingly successful first-year event. Even though my wallet is thinning out by the minute due to the summer concert season, I can’t imagine passing this one up.

you must see “Dr. Dog”…..their live performances are the best. Check out their “We All Belong” c.d. and their myspace videos before you go… They are the best and have those “can’t stay out of your head’ songs that you must hear before seeing them live… Great bunch of performers…

me: I’ve heard great things about Dr. Dog’s live show. Looking forward to it

Anon: Yeah… not too excited about Justice headlining. TV on the Radio put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen when they played at the Fillmore last. I’m considering them the effective headliner that night.
